Senator Uresti and the Blue Ribbon Task Force enjoyed caroling so much last year, that they went at it again! On December 22, the group sang its heart out, while also distributing information about the opportunity to connect mentors from the community with young parents journeying through the challenges of family life and parenting.
Senator Uresti began the Blue Ribbon Taskforce, a child abuse prevention coalition, in honor of Jovonie Ochoa's memory. Jovonie tragically passed away due to child abuse on Christmas Day fourteen years ago. The group caroled and undertook this initiative in Jovonie's honor.
The event was open to the public, spanned a one-mile walk, and ended with delicious hot chocolate at the River of Life Church. About 100 advocates, elected officials, and community members joined in the holiday experience.
